The Stamping Station in Mt. Dora is owned and operated by Lisa (daughter) and Lainie (mom). Lisa got interesed in stamping and scrapbooking while attending Rollins College, and she worked part time in a stamping store in Winter Park. Her interest sparked Lainie's interest, and she (Lainie) also ended up working part time in a stamp store. We had previously had a bead business, so our interest in crafts was not completely new, and our idea of going into business wasn't either.
After much conversation and woodshedding, and after a trip to charming Mt. Dora to the annual Art Festival, we decided to find a location in Mt. Dora and take the plunge. With the help of our families and friends, and even strangers (they aren't strangers anymore!), we got the place open in time for the fall Craft Fair (with, shall we say, a small but selective inventory), and have been going ever since. October 2005 will mark the end of our third full year in business.
It's been fun, hectic, and a lot of work. We've been thrilled by the response, and the friendliness of our customers/friends, and our fellow shop owners in Mt. Dora. We try to carry, in our little store (let's call it "cozy") a good variety of stamping and scrapbooking products, and we're always looking for new products to show.
Seems like everyone (well, lots of people) ask us if we have a website. Well, we have finally taken that plunge, too. This site is still a work in progress, as is the store, so keep coming back to see what we've added. It'll never be an exhaustive presentation of our inventory, that would be well-nigh impossible. However, we hope it is informative and helpful.
